Precision Machining and Fabrication Inc. in Comstock Park is expanding its fabrication capabilities with the acquisition of a local firm.
Local M&A firm Small Business Deal Advisors recently announced the sale of Sparta-based Coach House Iron, located at 1005 Nine Mile Road NW, to Precision. Terms of the deal were not disclosed.
Established in 2009, Precision specializes in computer numerical control (CNC) machining, turning and fabrication for various industries. Since 2016, the company has been solely owned by Aarron Antcliff, who recently was seeking a new facility for Precision and came across the Coach House opportunity during his search.

In a news release, Antcliff said Coach House is "a perfect fit" for Precision and will grow the company's fabrication business with a well-suited facility.
"We look forward to continuing Coach House Iron's legacy of providing high-quality metal products," Antcliff said in a statement. "Our hope is that both businesses will complement each other, allowing us to offer even more to both our existing and new customers."
Brothers Mike and Herb Bergstrom founded Coach House Iron in 1987. The company specializes in creating custom metal structures for local construction, remodeling and industrial companies with product offerings consisting of metal furniture parts, posts, beams, staircases and other custom items.
As the Bergstroms started eyeing retirement, they connected with Grand Rapids-based Small Business Deal Advisors to assist with the sale of Coach House. Scott Nicholson at Small Business Deal Advisors served as the lead adviser on the transaction.
"Mike and I are elated that Scott found such a well-suited buyer for Coach House Iron, and we are thrilled that Precision Machining and Fabrication is taking over the reins," Herb Bergstrom said in a statement. "We are excited to enter retirement knowing that the company is in such good hands."
